Development Showcase Series: Marquette University College of Business
Thursday, January 26, 2023 (4:00 PM - 6:00 PM) (CST)
Description
Join us for a NAIOP Wisconsin exclusive tour of the new home for the College of Business at Marquette University, O’Brien Hall. The building, developed at the corner of 16th Street and Wisconsin Avenue, opened in December 2022 to house the undergraduate and graduate business programs at Marquette. You’ll learn about the challenges the team faced in designing this state-of-the-art facility, including:
- How do you design a building for gathering people during a global pandemic?
- What does the changing nature of work, including work-from-home and remote work, impact how a business school building is laid out?
- How do you design a building to meet the needs not only of Gen Z, but also Generation Alpha and future generations to come?
- How does a critically important project like this mean to not just Marquette’s broader campus plan, but the City of Milwaukee as well?
Guest speakers include:
Mike Stern, Project Executive, and Justine Hansel, Assistant Project Manager, Findorff
Tim Hanley, Acting James H. Keyes Dean of Business Administration, Marquette
Lora Strigens, Vice President for Planning and Strategy, Marquette
A short program will be followed by tours of the new facility with Marquette and Findorff team members.
A networking happy hour will follow.
Parking: Parking is available either on the street on campus (2 hour metered parking until 6pm) or in Structure 1 on 16th Street, across from O’Brien Hall. Parking will be validated.
